Physical description: A crab has soft insides protected by an exoskeleton. A crab has ten legs but a crabs head cannot move, their eyes move with ease around.
Phylum: Crustaceans, also in this phylum are prawns and crayfish.
Life cycle: A crab starts of as an egg and floats around and sheds its skin a couple of times .the crab stops shedding its skin and settles down on the seabed.
Habitat: A crab live in the muddy flats or if not a mud crab in the shallows near a reef.
Diet: A crab will eat small fish, oysters and clams.
Adaptations: Crabs like other crustaceans have a hard exoskeleton and their own defense is a pair of claws.
